News From Our Centers
We have now been in our new location in Elizabethton for just over a year now and things are going great. We are open Monday through Friday. We currently have two ladies at the Center who are working with us through the Senior Work Program. Each of the ladies works approximately 20 hours a week at no cost to our Center as their salary is paid by the Senior Work Program. In addition to these two ladies, we are also staffed by volunteers. We are still offering our Mommy Classes and our Mommy Mart in addition to our other programs. Since the closing of Kingsway Charities (also known as the King Benevolent Fund) we are not getting as many donations as we have previously but with the continued support of area churches and individuals we will continue to meet the needs of our clients. Our Center in Mountain City celebrated its first anniversary earlier this year. In addition to this milestone anniversary, our Mountain City Center also held a Grand Opening Ceremony at their new location. Our Center in Mountain City had previously been located at 1231 S. Shady Street in Mountain City but has now moved to a new location just a short distance from its previous home. Our Mountain City Center is now located at 1007 S. Shady Street. The Mountain City Center is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and is completely manned by volunteers as we have no staff member there. Currently we are only offering our Mommy Classes and Crisis Pregnancy programs in Mountain City but we hope that now the groundwork is in place for the program that we will be blessed with growth and be able to expand and offer additional services and programs to our clients in Johnson County. The churches in the Mountain City community have really stepped up to the plate and are helping our Center there to grow. Also this year, our Mountain City Center presented awareness programs at the Sunflower Days
